A couple weeks ago the pre-k program at All Saints had one of the cutest weddings I have ever attended - one for the letters Q & U! At first I was a little confused, but after attending and seeing how the kids "got it" - it all made much more sense. With the heavy emphasis on letters, annunciation & phonics, it helped to drive the fact home that q&u are almost always a pair. Each class drew names for the bride, groom, bridesmaids & groomsmen, etc. Ian, from Braxton's class was the groom and Finleigh, from the 5 day class was the bride. Braxton's friend from bridge, Matthew was the dad of the groom and Braxton was a groomsman. They had specific things they were to wear and do and say... like a real wedding! It was all too precious and made me realize I am nowhere near ready for a wedding of our own... thank goodness we are 20+ years away from that...
The program:
Braxton walking a bridesmaid down the aisle...
John David - not near as nervous as B!
All the groomsmen...
The groom - the letter U!
Flower girls...
The father & the bride - Q!
Everyone together...
Father Mel letting them know the letters are never to be separated as long as they shall live...
Harper was a mess during the ceremony...
Pronounced husband & wife...
Procession...
Proud dad of a groomsman...
Bubbles!
At the reception...
One of the reception tables...
Cookies with the letters...
The reception started to get a little wild - as they usually do!
Harper, of course, had to join in on the fun! She is so ready to go to school - just like big brother!
