First day of School - 2009

Braxton started school at Reading Friends this past Tuesday and we couldn't be happier with the whole experience.  He goes Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 12:00, which is the perfect amount of time, and he loves his two teachers, Mrs. Spoon and Mrs. Leigh.  He is adapting so well and looks forward to going everyday, which makes it that much easier on us, the parents!  The first day when we picked him up, his teachers told us he is the "class favorite!" I don't know if that means teacher's favorite or children's favorite, but Scott assures me it means BOTH!

Birthday dinner at Shady Oaks

Another year, another birthday!  This year we celebrated all week long because we had our wonderful friend in town, but on my actual birthday we celebrated with family at Shady Oaks.  I was thrilled because my Grandmother was able to be here for the joyous occasion. We had a great evening with excellent entertainment - my son, fabulous food, amazing company and great dessert. Thanks everyone for making this year so special!

Braxton loves everyone else's food more than his own... sounds like someone else I know!

Here we all are watching Braxton do his animal impressions under the table.  So entertaining!
I believe he was doing his best lion impression at this point in time.

Happy family... and really excited daddy~

Uncle Carlos comes to visit!

One of mine and Scott's very best friends came all the way from Panama to visit us this August and it didn't take long for Carlos (aka "Uncle C") to become one of Braxton's favorite people as well.  In the eight days he was here we didn't take a breath.  We went to see his favorite team, the Red Sox, lose to the Rangers; went to dinners at Piranha's, Del Frisco's, Eddie V's, Mi Cocina, Brix, and Shady Oaks (a couple of those twice); Carlos and Scott played golf at Dallas National, Shady Oaks (four times), Ridglea (four times), and Tierra Verde; and on top of this, we celebrated the birth of "baby blake", my birthday, and some other very exciting news regarding our growing family!
Here are some pictures from his visit...

He loved driving Scott's car and insisted on being our chauffeur!

With Baby Blake-

Marjorie "Blake" Bauer arrives!

Blake, Stacy and Cody's sweet baby girl, made her grand appearance on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 via c-section at Mansfield Methodist Hospital.  Braxton could not have been more excited to see his new cousin!  He held her almost immediately (with a little help from mommy) and one of the first thing he asked was, "Blake talk?".  It was so cute! He is so enamored with her and we are all looking forward to the many joys these two cousins will share in the years to come.
Proud (and nervous) parents before delivery--

And even prouder cousin after
